Acrylic lighting diffusers are panels fitted over LED, fluorescent, or recessed fixtures to soften and evenly distribute light. They reduce harsh glare, hide LED modules and fittings, and protect the light source from dust and damage. Opal white acrylic delivers maximum diffusion with a clean opaque finish; frosted acrylic offers a semi‑transparent satin look for decorative settings. Both are precision‑cut to your exact L × W × thickness (mm) in our Johannesburg workshop.
• Retail ceilings & shelving — Even, glare‑free light across product shelves, gondola bays, and promo lightboxes for better visual merchandising.
• Pharmacies & clinics — Soft, uniform illumination for dispensing areas, consultation counters, and patient signage — clean and easy to maintain.
• Corporate & offices — LED troffer covers and ceiling grid panels that reduce eye strain in open‑plan environments and meeting rooms.
• Hospitality — Bar and reception backlighting, menu boards, feature niches, and pendant fittings with a warm, diffused glow.
• Exhibitions & events — Temporary lightboxes, backlit wall panels, and branded feature stands with consistent colour temperature.
• Industrial & warehouse — High‑bay light diffusion and safety glare reduction in work and packing areas.
• Architects & interior designers — Specify custom opal or frosted diffuser panels for feature ceilings, linear slot diffusers, and bespoke lighting installations. We cut to your CAD dimensions.
Available materials
• Opal white acrylic — High light diffusion, opaque white finish. Best for office troffers, ceiling grids, and lightboxes requiring maximum diffusion. Typical thickness: 2–4 mm.
• Frosted acrylic — Medium‑high diffusion, semi‑transparent satin appearance. Ideal for feature panels and decorative fittings where some LED point visibility is acceptable. Typical thickness: 2–4 mm.
• Premium grades available: Perspex® and PLEXIGLAS® opal or frosted on request.
Sheet sizes & tolerances
• Standard sheet: up to 2050 × 3050 mm — cut to your custom dimensions.
• Typical tolerances: ±0.5 mm on length and width.
• Corner radii, clip slots, and cut‑outs available to match existing housings.
Usage notes
• Indoor use standard. Covered‑outdoor (patio, canopy) possible with UV‑stable grades.
• UV‑stable acrylic resists yellowing indoors. Specify environment when quoting.
• Fire rating: standard acrylic is combustible. Special grades can be sourced — confirm with your project fire engineer.
Packaging & delivery
• Each panel interleaved with protective film, edge‑protected, and packed flat in sturdy cardboard or plywood crates for SA‑wide courier transit.
• Delivery costs quoted upfront. Collect from Newlands workshop also welcome.
